How can lawyers assist clients in deciding when to sell their business? What are the critical issues a client must address before a sale? How do estate planning and other considerations affect planning for the sale?

Careful consideration of these questions and various options before the sale or merger of a business can improve the value of the transaction. Pat Boyle, a Director in Bernstein's Wealth Management Group, will share their latest research on planning for the sale of a business. Pat, who joined Bernstein in 2000, focuses on planning issues faced by successful business owners and has participated in providing research on a variety of topics, including single-stock concentrations, private foundations, and wealth-transfer vehicles. Pat is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charter holder and Certified Financial Planner (CFP).

Bernstein Global Wealth Management was founded to manage investments for private families and individuals. Bernstein manages approximately $110 billion for a private clientele that includes some of the nation's most prominent families and individuals. The firm is well known for having one of the largest and farthest-reaching investment research forces in the industry.

The format will be a one-hour meeting from 8:00-9:00am (arrive at 7:45 for networking). A half-hour of networking after the meeting would be optional.
