XBox Attorneys
Posted January 31st, 2011 by Roger Glovsky
Have you heard about virtual law offices? There is now something even better on the horizon...virtual attorneys. No, not real attorneys connected over the Internet, but computer generated personalities that can respond to real humans and even read their documents.
It is just a prototype, but check out this video if you want a glimpse of what the legal profession might look like in the year 2050. Very funny!

Why did you go to law school?
Posted October 23rd, 2010 by Roger Glovsky
I saw this video on Jason Mendelson's blog today. Although there are those of us lawyers who still believe in the ideals that motivate students to become lawyers, this is one of the funniest commentaries I have ever heard.
Seeking Shared Office Space (Cambridge, Boston, Waltham, Lexington, Wellesley, Newton, Burlington, Woburn)
Posted July 21st, 2010 by Roger Glovsky
We are in the process of exploring new office space for our firm, Indigo Venture Law Offices. As many of you know, our firm has taken an innovative approach to packaging legal services and we have recently formed "of counsel" relationships with other attorneys.
As part of our new business model, we plan to have multiple locations with shared office arrangements. The idea is to have many small offices which are located closer to our clients rather than one centralized location.
Preparing to Wind Down a Business: What information do you need?
Posted November 11th, 2009 by Roger Glovsky
We just posted Part 3 of the series on winding down a business. Although the concept of winding down a business is a pessimistic proposition, it is often a necessary action. This week's blog provides a good checklist of information for approaching the wind down process. You can find it at: http://www.askthevc.com/blog/archives/2009/11/preparing-to-wi.php.

As many of you know, I recently moved to Boulder, Colorado, which has a very strong entrepreneurial community. Some people have compared Boulder to a "young Silicon Valley." Like Boston and SF, the venture capitalists play a leading role in encouraging entrepreneurship.
Recommendations for retirement benefits for small company?
Posted September 9th, 2009 by Roger Glovsky
We have a client who is looking for recommendations for a financial advisor to help their company develop a retirement benefits strategy (401K and pensions) and advise us on tax implications. They would preferably like to work with an "independent consultant".
If any of you have financial advisors that you would recommend, please post a comment here or send email to me at roger@ivlo.com.
Blackberry Pearl Cell Phone

The Blackberry Pearl has been a tremendous help to my law practice, improving both communications and productivity. I just posted a blog explaining why I like this new cell phone at:

Merchant Processing Account
Posted April 15th, 2009 by Roger Glovsky
A BLN member would like to start accepting credit cards as payment for legal services and asked whether I could recommend a merchant processing vendor. Our firm does not accept credit cards, but this is a topic that seems to be coming up more often. I thought other BLN member may be able to make some recommendations, which I can post on the LEXpertise website.
Do any of you accept credit cards for professional services? Are there vendors you would recommend?
[RPG: Excellent list of responses. Be sure to read James Bolan's comment and the article on ethics issues relating to gredit card payments]
